If there’s ever a time of year when we allow ourselves to indulge in good food and a few drinks, it’s Christmas! Sosban’s Christmas A la Carte and Tasting Menus are full of treats perfect for celebrating the festive season with colleagues, family or friends.
Our Christmas dishes are inspired by memories for Andrew Sheridan’s childhood Christmases such as his mother’s family-famous mashed swede with garlic butter which they ate every Christmas. Andrew takes swede to the next level by roasting it in a salt-crust to seal in and intensify the flavours, serving it with garlic emulsion, pistachio and goats’ cheese taking this humble and underrated vegetable to a new level.
From 1st December you can choose from our Christmas A la Carte menu which features Roasted Pheasant served with bacon ketchup, mushrooms and grains or Ash Covered Venison Loin, with beetroot ketchup, black pudding and blackberries. Vegetarians aren’t forgotten and will savour Potato Cracker, pickled mustard seeds, onion marmalade and cheddar custard or Pumpkin Risotto, toasted seeds and goats’ cheese.
Puddings celebrate traditional Christmas flavours but in Sosban’s unique way! Don’t miss Mince Pie Ice Cream with brandy custard and orange or Coffee Pannacotta with chocolate and coffee textures.
We have two Christmas Tasting Menus (4 and 7 courses) available for both meat-eaters and vegetarians (and for vegans on request at booking). Our sommeliers also offer a thoughtfully curated flight of matching wines each course. At lunch choose from a 2 or 3 course set lunch.
Meanwhile, if you’re in the mood for a party our clever bar team have created some sophisticated seasonal cocktails including a delicious ‘Just a Bellini’ made with sparkling wine and clementines as well as a warming and spicy Mulled Wine.
Sosban Gift Experiences
If you know someone who loves good food and dining out, but are stuck for what to give them this Christmas, why not give them a Sosban Gift Experience? You can now buy Gift Dining Experiences from our website for our 5- and 7-course tasting menus. You can even add a glass of Prosecco for arrival and a flight of matching wines, or you can buy a Gift Voucher from £50.
You will receive a Gift Voucher beautifully presented in a gift box to wrap up for the tree.
The lucky recipient can then book their meal at Sosban whenever they wish. (Vouchers are valid for 12 months).
Christmas Gifts – Sosban Hampers and Cheeseboards!
If dining at Sosban whets your appetite and you want to take a little bit of it home to enjoy during your Christmas celebrations or as a gift for someone special, then you’ll be as excited as us to know that from Saturday 1 December we will be selling Sosban hampers and Cheeseboards. You can buy some of Head Chef Andrew Sheridan’s specialities including indulgent Chocolate and Raspberry Shards and Salted Caramel Fudge, beautifully wrapped they make perfect gifts. If you’re more of a savoury person you can buy a Sosban Cheeseboard – a quality olive-wood cheese board and a selection of our favourite cheeses.

See the New Year in at Sosban!
Join us on New Year’s Eve for an incredible 7-course Tasting Menu to make a truly memorable evening. We’ll have fantastic live music from 10pm so you can dance the night away. Then at midnight we’ll toast the New Year in with fireworks.
We’re open Monday to Sunday in December!
If there’s a time for eating out with family, friends or colleagues, it’s December – so we’re opening 7 days a week from the 17th December until the Christmas Eve on 24th December.
We’re closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day but reopen on Thursday 27th through to New Years Eve when we’re ’til late of course and will be welcoming the New Year in with a special tasting menu and fireworks!
